Hollyhocks

Hollyhocks (Alcea) are popular garden ornamentals native to Europe and Asia and widely grown from seed in North America. The tall, single stem plants flower in a wide variety of colors, from white and pastel pinks, purples, and yellows to deep red and nearly black maroon. Although most species are annuals or biennials, they self-sew and multiply readily.
