MY VANISHING POINT
Joe Cunningham
San Francisco, California
2012

Machine sewn cotton and bias tape
74 x 74 inches

A quilt about aging. As Bob Dylan has put it, "It's not dark yet, but it's getting there." Joe Cunningham explains, "My Vanishing Point is a landscape that includes the road I will walk 'til I vanish. Most of the fabrics are commercial fabrics I bought at my local store when they were on sale. Looking at them I realized there was no way to put them together in any sensible way, a realization that made me want to put them together all the more."
