The Source for Contemporary Art Quilts, Exhibitions & Appraisals

Laura Lee Fritz, who has been making quilts since 1969, is a master machine quilter who is widely known for her hand appliqué quilts and her fanciful whole cloth quilting filled with narrative images from the stories surrounding her life. The author of six books on quiltmaking, she specializes in custom longarm quilting and continuous line design and has added the finishing touch of her machine quilting to the work of many top quilt artists.

This is an early and remarkable pictorial appliqué; big, graphic, and colorful with perhaps a bit of symbolism in the red, white, and blue truck (and its American flag) being squeezed by the darkly ominous and relentless car crusher.
