The Source for Contemporary Art Quilts, Exhibitions & Appraisals

This little gem is one of a series of ten iterations of this pattern that Kate created in the 1990s. Like all of her work, the quilt is crafted in one inch=one foot scale using tiny pieces of antique cotton fabrics from Kate's vast collection. The quilt is composed in a central medallion format with a single house at center surrounded by three borders and a wide binding. The middle border includes eight tiny heart blocks.

The quilt is archivally matted using acid free museum board in off white and cream and framed under glass. The frame is handmade with a 1 1/2" reveal on the face and decorative corner blocks. The frame is subtly hand grain painted in a black wash over red.
